In response to a Sunday Times article yesterday, "Doctors are ‘hopeless at childbirth’", Sam Grimstone, Director of Communications, NCT, said:

“Better Births and the Safer Maternity Action Plan rightly note the importance of midwives and obstetricians working together to deliver safe, high-quality services for women and their babies.

“NCT wants all women and their partners to have the best possible experience of pregnancy and birth and to feel confident and prepared to begin parenthood.  We work closely  with the Royal College of Midwives and Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and fully support a multidisciplinary approach to maternity services.”
