Sarah Brown, Trustee

Sarah was elected to the Board at the 2017 AGM. She is currently a solicitor for the General Medical Council and previously worked for Greater Manchester Police and in local government.

In her spare time, she is also a trustee of Leeds Mencap, a charity providing services to improve the lives of children and adults with a learning disability, along with their families and carers. In addition to her general trustee duties, Sarah is the trustee lead for safeguarding and regularly assists staff to review, develop and improve safeguarding policies and procedures at Leeds Mencap.

As a parent, Sarah knows from her own personal experience how invaluable support is during the first 1,000 days: some days dealing with the challenges of parenting comes naturally and other days she simply does not know where to start. Sarah believes that NCT and the people she has met through it have provided a lifeline for her on the toughest of days. She feels very fortunate to have that support and know how and where to access relevant services.
