Advertising with Hexham & Tynedale NCT

Hexham & Tynedale NCT branch covers Tynedale and surrounding areas, from Brampton to Ryton. The branch organises a wide range of social and fundraising events for members and non-members, including coffee mornings, weekly baby groups, evening events and nearly new sales. Other services include postnatal support and breastfeeding counselling.

Currently we offer three forms of advertising:

  1. Promotion to Nearly New Sale shoppers
  2. Stalls at branch events
  3. Print advertising in our termly Canny Bairn newsletter

Option 1:

Nearly New Sales

We host three nearly new sales each year, providing an opportunity for both members and non-members to buy and sell quality second hand goods. We have around 100 shoppers attending each sale, all of whom receive a complimentary NCT carrier bag for their purchases which contain a number of flyers for relevant services.

Stalls at Nearly New Sale:  You can have a table at our Nearly New Sale to promote your service in person and to sell items to our customers. The cost for a table is £25 and includes the distribution of 100 flyers in our bags.

Flyers only:  for £15, we will distribute up to 100 of your flyers in the bags we give to the shoppers to take home.

Option 2:

Stalls at Branch Events

We hold several branch events throughout the year that feature stalls for local businesses. These include our Nearly New Sales held three times a year (see above for details), our weekly Bumps & Babies group, and one-off parties such as our Cheeky Monkeys Tea Party.

At Bumps and Babies we can offer an introductory 10 minute talk to parents at one of our session, plus 100 flyers to give out on the day and at future sessions until they are all given out. There will also be promotion of the event on our Facebook page. The cost for this is £25.

Option 3:

Print advertising in Canny Bairn newsletter

The Canny Bairn is produced three times a year with a circulation of around 250 copies. It is mailed to members and potential members, as well being handed out at local NCT events such as coffee mornings and nearly new sales. We also deliver the newsletter to various external services, such as children's centres, NCT antenatal classes, play centres and libraries etc to reach as wide an audience as possible. The newsletter is valued as a source of local information by many new parents, including those who may have moved into the area.

Currently the newsletter is in an A5 format, containing usually around 32 pages and printed in black/white and colour. Adverts can be accepted by email, or on disk either as a graphics file (jpgs) or a pdf.

Advertising in our local newsletter compares extremely favourably with other forms of advertising, especially as the newsletter is so well targeted to expectant parents and those with young children.
