NCT Courses and Covid-19

Until the end of February 2021 our courses are online. Currently, due to rising Covid-19 infection rates and official guidance for pregnant women, online is the only way we can safely and practically deliver local, fully interactive and inclusive courses – a decision supported by the Royal College of Midwives.

We know how much you value our in-person courses so we’re keeping our options open for courses from March 2021 onwards. Currently you can still book these as in-person classes but we’ll only bring people back together in venues once it is safe to do so. We’ll never put you, your baby or your family at risk.

To understand more about why we're delivering our courses online please read our course FAQs. Our website also has an up-to-date section on Covid-19 pregnancy and birth information.

Our Covid-19 Price Promise: If you book a course that is already being delivered online you’ll receive a 15% discount at the time of booking. If you book a course that is currently offered as in-person, we’ll give you back 15% of your course fee if we need to move it online to ensure your safety.

About Anne

Anne lives in rural Dumfries and Galloway, but can be in Glasgow or most parts of the central belt in an hour and Edinburgh in an hour and a half.

The experience of training as an NCT doula was really exciting for Anne. Her births were all very different and enjoyable in their own ways. She knows it is not always easy to have the kind of birth you hope for and would love to enable more women to do so. Anne feels passionately that a positive birth experience is a really good foundation for parenthood.

As an NCT antenatal teacher with twenty four years of experience, Anne likes to empower her clients. Most of them gain the confidence to experience the birth that is right for them but she is aware that a few people need extra support. As a doula, Anne can provide that extra support in many ways to women with and without partners, or with any particular needs.

She is able to support you emotionally, offer you comfort measures such as massage, and help you use active birth skills such as breathing and relaxation. Anne can also support your partner during the labour. She will meet with you again after the birth to discuss your labour with you.

Anne loves being out in the fresh air. She enjoys gardening and has recently travelled to China and Iceland and walked the West Highland way with her sons.
