New Baby is a supportive postnatal course for you and your baby.

We help you learn the secrets of good sleep & how to support your baby’s development.

Focus on taking care of yourself, navigating changing family relationships, and becoming a confident parent for the future.

Our Introducing Solid Foods online workshop is included – so you’ll feel prepared for trying solid food when the time comes.

What you’ll learn

There's no 'how-to guide' to parenting your new baby which has all the answers, so it’s not unusual for new parents to feel uncertain, unprepared or overwhelmed.

Our New Baby course focuses on life with your new baby, the things you are experiencing, different ways to manage and where to find support, if you need it.

The sessions have three key themes:

  • Understanding how your baby will grow, learn and develop
  • How to support your own family's physical and emotional wellbeing, as well as your baby's
  • Looking at the range of approaches to parenting so you feel confident.

How your baby grows, learns and develops

We’ll explore caring for your baby and how you can support their development in the early weeks and months.

We build your understanding of babies crying, how they communicate, and explore their sleep cycles and early development. This can help you develop the skills and confidence you need to help comfort your baby and anticipate their sleep times and feeds, whilst learning to meet their emotional needs.

Family wellbeing

Looking after your physical and emotional wellbeing is really important for any new parent. Our New Baby course gives you the space to focus on your own needs, and to think about all those involved in caring for your baby.

You will discuss the usual challenges new families face, from the impact on relationships and the lack of sleep, to physical recovery and wellbeing. You will develop strategies to support positive mental health.

Confident parenting

We aim to give you the confidence to make decisions that are right for you and your family - whilst recognising that the pressure to make the "right" decision can feel overwhelming.

The course explores different approaches to parenting, alongside changing attitudes, and recommendations to help you consider the patterns and routines that will work for you.

A FREE online Introducing Solids workshop is included with every New Baby course

Moving on to solid foods is a big moment in your baby's development. But with so much advice and so many methods out there, it can be tricky to know how to approach it. Our Introducing Solid Foods workshops give you all the information you need to make decisions that work for you.

What to expect

Expect expert, caring and knowledgeable course leaders with up-to-date, evidenced-based information and resources that will give you the knowledge, confidence and support to make informed decisions that are right for you and your baby.

Expert, caring and knowledgeable course leaders

Our course leaders are expert facilitators. They create safe and inclusive environments, to make sure you have a positive group experience.  The leaders are knowledgeable and approachable, ready to provide you with accurate, up-to-date information and resources.

Support network

You’ll meet other parents at our supportive groups, so you can build a network of support for the future.

The benefit of joining a course over a drop-in group is the personalised experience - you'll be supported by the same practitioner, and meet the same group of parents each week.

An informed approach

We help you explore parenting and consider what might work for you and your baby. We want you to feel confident that you’re getting all the support, knowledge and insight you need to make the right decisions for your family.

We offer evidence-based information and link you into local services and support, so you can make informed decisions and start to feel more confident and connected.
