Baby Café is a free breastfeeding drop-in where all pregnant and breastfeeding mums are welcome. They aim to offer help and support to breastfeeding mothers at any stage in their breastfeeding journey, regardless of the age of the baby or child and no matter how much breastmilk you are giving. In a relaxed, informal atmosphere you can chat to other mums, get one-to-one help from specially trained staff, look at breastfeeding information and enjoy refreshments.
Run by trained staff
Baby Café drop-ins are run by a range of staff including health professionals (midwives, health visitors, or lactation consultants); practitioners such as nursery nurses; or breastfeeding counsellors from the voluntary breastfeeding organisations. All will have specific training and experience in helping breastfeeding families.
Help with every aspect of breastfeeding
Help is available on all aspects of breastfeeding and its impact on daily life – from starting to stopping and all the variations in between.
In a relaxed, informal atmosphere you can:
- Meet other mums and share experiences in a group of other breastfeeding women.
- Access one-to-one help, should you need it, from one of our specially trained staff.
- Look at a range of breastfeeding information, including books and leaflets.
- Be offered refreshments.
The Breastfeeding Café guarantee
Our name and trade mark is The Baby Café. All genuine Baby Café drop-ins which are registered with us are listed here and will display their Licence Certificate during the Baby Café session. You can expect all these to be run to the same high standards.
