This week as well as being able to come along and have a drink and a biscuit and meet other mums & mums-to-be, Jennifer Knowles from Healthy Jen will be visiting to give us a a taster of her post pregnancy Pilates classes which are for Mums and Babies, held at Yoga Akasha.
Pilates consists of sets of controlled, mindful exercise conceived and developed by Joseph Pilates.
By focusing and controlling our movements, we link the mind and the body and because the exercises are carried out under your control, to the degree that is right for you, they have something to offer everyone; sports professionals, the elderly and the young, the pregnant and the complete novice.
Pilates is a good choice of exercise when you are pregnant because it is a gentle, low-impact form of exercise. Working on the 'core', the pelvic floor and back muscles, you will strengthen the very muscles that you need to work on during pregnancy.
