About the group
Are you expecting a baby and thinking about where to give birth? The NCT Homebirth Group offers peer support for expectant parents who are considering having their baby within the comfort of their own home. Talking to other people who have given birth at home can help you boost your confidence and provide you with information and support.
Our homebirth group is co-ordinated by Emilie Deering and Karen Jasper, local NCT Breastfeeding Counsellors who have both had home birth themselves. They feel passionate about women’s choices surrounding birth and the meetings offer expectant mothers and their partners a chance to meet in an informal atmosphere, share concerns and get factual information as well as hear first hand experiences. You can talk through practicalities as well as ask as many questions as you like.
Where and when?
The meetings are held on a Sunday evening, and in the home of a volunteer. Everyone is welcome – couples, mums, partners, birth companions – whether this is your first or your fourth baby! We support members from Redditch and Bromsgrove area and you do not need to be a member of the NCT to come along. There is no charge for entry; however a voluntary donation would be gratefully received on the night.
