Durham NCT is ran entirely by volunteers, without volunteers we would be unable to support local parents with our Parent and baby groups and Nearly new sales. In addition to helping other local parents, volunteering for the NCT has great benefits for you including joining a new network of friends, peer support from across the country and the opportunity to acquire new skills and experience.

Meet and Make Group Leader

Last year the branch won a kit to launch a new toddler group, Meet and Make, sponsored by Lego Duplo this group is for parents and their toddlers aged 18 months and over and we have a large kit of Lego Duplo perfect for developing fine motor and imaginative play skills.

The branch team will work with the Meet and Make Coordinator to find a venue, date and time for the new group that suits both the needs of the branch and the new volunteer. In this role you will be required to set up and run the group each week, and depending on venue may include serving refreshments for the attending parents and toddlers. This role is well suited to being shared between 2 or 3 volunteers who take turns and/or run the group together. Full training will be given.

The Membership Coordinator is the main point of contact for new and renewing members. It is a role that can be entirely homebased. In this role you will welcome new members and individuals who have booked onto NCT classes and follow up enquiries about membership. Full training and support will be given.

Branch PSA Link

The PSA Link helps to welcome and connect parents attending NCT courses to the branch, by letting them know how they can get involved with branch activities and events, this can be done by visiting each class to meet the parents or via email. They also help the branch connect to the member of the staff, known as the Parent Services Administrator (PSA) who organises NCT courses.

This role would suit someone who is a good listener, confident and has good organisation skills. Full training will be given.
