Glasgow

Welcome to NCT Glasgow branch. We offer support, information and friendship to new parents and parents-to-be throughout Glasgow and Renfrewshire

NCT Glasgow branch is led by volunteers and offers local parents and parents-to-be invaluable support, services and NCT events, to help them get the most out of their new roles.

Our antenatal courses take place in the West End and in South Glasgow, allowing small friendly groups to get to know each other and be supported when becoming parents.

We are looking for volunteers to help with re-starting and running some Coffee Groups across Glasgow and Renfrewshire. If you would like to get involved in setting up one of these, especially if you think there is a lack of support in your local area then please do contact us- we will do our best to help!

Breastfeeding Support is provided in the Southside every Wednesday 13:30-16.00, at Merry-Go-Round, alongside Bumps & Babies. Our local breastfeeding counsellor Margaret Rowbory is available to provide support outwith this time, she can be contacted on bf.nctglasgow@gmail.com. From 1 May 2019 until approximately the end of June, Merry Go Round will be closed for refurbishment. During that time Bumps and Babies will be held in The Bungo, 17-21 Nithsdale Road across the street from Merry Go Round.

Breastfeeding Support can also be found locally at the three BabyCafe drop-in venues. Keep up to date with the details on the Facebook page: www.facebook.com/NCTGlasgowBFSupport

We have an active Sling Library and Hire Group who meet monthly in the Southside and have plenty of peer supporters available for babywearing information.

We usually run NCT Nearly New Sales twice a year in the Southside and West end. The cost of kitting out your baby or toddler can run into thousands of pounds. NCT Nearly New Sales offer the perfect solution- sell on your old goods, pick up top quality pre-loved items at bargain prices and fundraise for NCT. For 2019 these have been postponed to 2020 for

Our Baby First Aid courses, taught by the British Red Cross, are proving very popular, and run quarterly. New sessions for Autumn 2019 will be announced very soon.

We are always looking for new people to get involved on the branch committee, and volunteering at the various groups and events we host. You don't need to be a member, and even if you only have a little time to spare, it would be great to have you on board! If you are interested in hearing more, contact us on Coordinator.glasgow@nct.org.uk

We are also on Facebook and Twitter - follow us to keep up to date with our activities
