Dads' Night Out

This group is not currently active but we can certainly understand why a group of dads might want to meet up, maybe for a beer and curry, every so often. Perhaps you might know someone interested in volunteering to be the Dads' Night Out Co-Ordinator!

Other Dads Events

Dad are very welcome to many other NCT events including:

  • Coffee groups
  • Parties
  • Nearly New Sales
  • Bumps and Babies
  • Tots and Toddlers
  • Babbinos & Cappucinos

We regularly update our Facebook group about these meetups, so please join the group for up-to-date information!

Newspaper Articles

Dads are warmly invited to write for our branch's quarterly newsletter!

If you are interested in writing an article - it doesn't have to be long, or brilliant, just a small contribution to our branch newsletter - please email our Newsletter Editor. It's always interesting to hear from a Dads perspective and in the past the articles have been very amusing!

Book Library

We have a collection of books available for alll parents to borrow and use. Please see the Branch Library section for our current list of books and how to borrow them www.nct.org.uk/branches/wokingham/branch-library

Dads on the Web

We hate to generalise, but men tend to like their information in a different format to women. There are some useful websites out there that provide resources on birth, pregnancy and early fatherhood from the dad’s perspective – here are some to get you started (most contain links to other relevant sites too).

  • www.dad.info Stated aim: to give dads a free and permanent source of the information they're likely to need - from pregnancy, birth and babies to financial, legal and education info - from a dad's perspective.
  • homedad.org.uk A support group dedicated to helping dads who are staying at home to bring up their children.
  • www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/dads Lots of resources for expectant dads, including birth stories from the dad’s perspective, and links to other relevant websites.
  • www.fatherhoodinstitute.org A charitable organization that among other things collates and publishes international research on fathers, fatherhood and different approaches to engaging with fathers by public services and employers.
