Early Pregnancy Open Evenings
Croydon Univeristy Hospital host a monthly Early Pregnancy Open Evening on the 1st Wednesday of every month from 7:30pm-9pm. Please see our events page for full location details and dates or visit the Croydon NHS Website however there is no need to book a place - just turn up!
It is recommended that you attend before your 20th week of pregnancy and open evening enables you to obtain information from a wide range of different sources, all under one roof. Refreshments will be available but please be aware you will be on your feet throughout the evening.
There will be representatives from:
The Birth Centre, Health Visitors, Home Birth Team, Breastfeeding Advisor, Nutritionists, Children’s Information Services, Hypno birthing, Homeopaths, Car seat safety, Osteopaths, Butterfly company, Bra fitting, Before and after Baby, Exercise in pregnancy, The National Childbirth Trust, Children’s centres, Real Nappy company, Cranial osteopath, Yoga and Special Baby Care Unit.

There are Children's Centres in 20 locations across Croydon and they offer a range of services to parents from pregnancy through to when your child starts school. Children’s Centres are somewhere you and your child can make friends and play; and you can get advice on your child’s health, family matters, help in seeking work and much more.
Croydon Library Services
The Croydon Library service has lots to offer for children under five. From the Book Start Scheme to free sessions such as Rhyme Time, Wiggle and Jiggle and Story Time there are lots of ways to introduce reading and learning through nurseryrhymes and songs.
It's free to join the Bookstart Bear Club to receive your passport, welcome certificate, bookmark and door hanger. Paw prints are stamped on the passport each time a child takes part in a Bear Club activity and there are more certificates to collect!
