Our spokespeople

Angela McConville

Angela McConville, Chief Executive

Angela joined NCT in January 2020. She is a proven charity leader, having fulfilled a number of significant Chief Executive and trustee roles over the last 15 years.  She is passionately committed to community-building, education and helping communities to thrive.

Angela holds an MSc from Trinity College Dublin and an MBA from Henley Business School.  Born in Northern Ireland, she has lived with her family in London and Oxfordshire since 2000.

 

Elizabeth Duff, Senior Policy Adviser

Elizabeth Duff, Senior Policy Adviser

Elizabeth is NCT’s Senior Policy Adviser and can discuss subjects including maternity services, midwifery and birthplace settings (home, midwife-led units, hospital).

She has previously worked with both the Royal College of Midwives and the International Confederation of Midwives in communications and policy. In her present post, she has represented NCT on national maternity reviews in both England and Scotland.

 

Agnes Hann, Research and Evaluation Manager

Agnes Hann, Research and Evaluation Manager

Agnes is NCT’s Research & Evaluation manager and can discuss mental health, vulnerable groups (including young parents, single parents) and research findings.

She joined NCT in 2017 and has worked in social research for over ten years. She worked in mental health research at the McPin Foundation and completed a PhD in Anthropology, with a focus on gender and economy, at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

 

Val Willcox, Practice Manager, Antenatal teacher

Val Willcox, Practice Manager, Antenatal teacher

Val is NCT's Practice Manager and an NCT antenatal teacher and can cover subjects including antenatal classes, labour and birth, early parenting and infant feeding.

She joined her local NCT branch in 2001 and ran its Nearly New Sales for several years. She qualified as an Antenatal Teacher in 2008 and has since taught in the Basildon, Billericay & Wickford areas. She joined head office as Antenatal Coordinator in 2013 became Practice Manager in 2016. She lives in Essex with her husband, two children, two cats and a dog.

 

Jane Moffett

Jane Moffett, Breastfeeding Counsellor

Jane is an NCT breastfeeding counsellor and can discuss subjects including infant feeding, new parents' mental health and returning to work after a parental break.

She joined NCT in 1995, qualified as a breastfeeding counsellor in 1998, and has since facilitated hundreds of antenatal breastfeeding classes and supported thousands of new parents with infant feeding in her local area of Winchester.

As well as working for NCT, she is a regular contributor to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy journal ‘Workplace’, writing on a series of subjects including perinatal mental health and the needs of new fathers.

Jane is also a coach, specialising in supporting parents – and their managers – in the transition back to work after parental leave.
