Membership Coordinator is currently held by Rachel Hughes.
The Membership Coordinator must be an NCT member. All volunteers are covered by the conditions of the Volunteer Policy & Charter.
The Membership Coordinator is:
- the designated first point of contact in the branch for new and renewing members;
- the main communication link with UK Office Supporter Relations Department and branch team members over membership data and data protection issues;
- able to promote membership as a way that individuals can support the NCT charity.
A Membership Coordinator must have access to a computer in order to use the branch membership reporting tool - a fast processing speed will be helpful.
A successful Membership Coordinator is well organised, an effective communicator and knowledgeable about branch activities and the NCT as a whole in order to encourage parents to join and stay as members. Being the Membership Coordinator may be hard work and challenging at times, but always interesting and worthwhile.
There will be times of the year when more hours will be required, e.g. preparing reports for team meetings or prior to newsletter distribution. The NCT Volunteer & Member Profile 2008 showed that 47% of volunteers spent up to 2 hours in a typical week and a further 42% spent 2 to 8 hours on their volunteering.
