The Tring & District Nearly New Sales provide an opportunity to pick up fantastic bargains on toys, books, clothes, and much more for children from birth to seven years, plus maternity clothing and nursery equipment.  Later on, parents can sell unwanted or outgrown items on a shared profit basis with a percentage going to the NCT Charity.

Information for Sellers

Each seller must register to receive a seller number.  Once you have registered, you will receive your labels to price, classify and attach to your items.  You then bring your items to the hall at 8:45 am on the day of the sale. On arrival, please report to the seller's coordinator so you can be checked off the seller's list.  Tables and hanging rails will be clearly marked in the hall according to the categories of items. Display your items yourself in the appropriate areas and leave by 9:30 am.  Return to collect any unsold items between 12:30 pm and 1:00 pm.

Any profits are split between the seller and the NCT.  Sellers retain 70%, and NCT retain 30% of the profits.  Sellers who also volunteer at the sale, retain 75% and NCT retain 25% of the profits.

Full instructions on how to sell at the sale, fill in the labels and item classifications to use are given in the seller's guide which you can download from Related Document panel on the right of this page.

Information for Advertisers

At the NNS Sale, every buyer receives a goody bag which contains samples, coupons and leaflets from local businesses.
If you are interested in placing an advert for your business in our goody bag you can purchase this service via our online system and we will need the printed leaflets received latest by two weeks prior to the sale.  To place 100 leaflets costs £10, 200 leaflets £20 and we normally get over 200 people attending the sale.  There are also tables available at the event for local businesses to promote and sell costing £30 each and again these can be booked via the on-line system.

Volunteer Helpers

To run the sale we need many helpers to help with the set-up, running and tidy up of the sale.  Helpers also get special early access to the sale and a greater proportion of the value of their sales.  Volunteers would need to arrive from 8 am on the day of the sale and stay to 12:30 pm. If you would like to volunteer, please contact tringanddistrict@nct.org.uk

Get the most out of the sale

Here are a few top tips on how to get the most out of the sale:

  • Arrive in plenty of time as there is usually a queue.
  • NCT members are allowed earlier entry so consider joining the NCT ahead of the sale.
  • The sales are often very busy, and pushchairs are allowed, but you might find it easier to shop with your baby in a sling
  • Think about how you are going to get your shopping home – please consider bringing a helper if you plan to buy any large or heavy items.
