Pregnancy drinking

If you normally drink alcohol, you might want something more exciting than squash as a summer drink swap. Here’s our guide to the best booze replacements

Mocktails

When it comes to mocktails, the options are improving so it’s always worth checking out the drinks menu. You might also want to learn how to whip them up at home.

Best alcohol-free wine

With a bit of research, you might find some alcohol-free wine that's not bad. Most big supermarkets stock different options so do some googling and perhaps have a (non-alcoholic) wine tasting evening with your friends.

Fancy water

If you want something light but a glass of tap water isn’t really saying ‘fun times’, go for a flavoured sparkling water, maybe. It feels fancier and should cool you down. You could even make your own cucumber-infused water.

Cordial, but not as you know it

You could have a go at making your own cordials or plump for something fancier than your childhood favourites. Try elderflower or a ginger flavour for something a bit different.

Pressé

Serve these sparkling juices with loads of ice and lime. Then you’ll feel kind of like you’re joining in with the wine drinking.

This is what to upgrade yourself to if you like fizzy drinks but want a more adult version than old-school Fanta. Elderflower is also a good choice of flavour.

Alcohol-free beer

Generally, alcohol-free beer does a far better job at replicating its boozy counterpart than alcohol-free wine. So a lot of beers will hit the spot during a day in the garden. Check out the selection you can find online for ideas.
