An antenatal practitioner in Enfield has been honoured with the Practitioner behind the Scenes Award at the national NCT Stars event.

NCT Stars Awards celebrate and honour the efforts of the charity’s volunteers and practitioners who give their time and skills to support mums and dads in their communities.

Joanna Brett won the award, which is presented to the practitioner who has done the most to support NCT at a local branch level.

Joanna was instrumental in stabilising the Enfield branch when it was in danger of folding and has successfully recruited volunteers to increase membership and provide more services for local parents.

Presenting the award at City Hall, London, Virginia Campbell, Head of NCT College, said: “The Stars Awards are a great way to thank some of our fabulous practitioners, who play a vital role by providing high quality courses and workshops for new parents. Joanna is someone who has gone the extra mile to support parents and richly deserves her accolade.”

Joanna Brett said: “I’m delighted to win this award which recognises the work we’re doing in the local branch to support parents. It’s an honour to win during NCT’s 60th anniversary as it’s a reminder of the parents we’ve supported in the area over the years.”

NCT is the UK’s largest charity for parents. For more information about becoming an NCT practitioner, visit its website or call its enquiries line on 0300 330 0770.
