NCT Senior Policy Adviser, Elizabeth Duff comments on the Women and Equalities Committee's Pregnancy and maternity discrimination report, suggesting pregnant women and mothers are reporting more discrimination and poor treatment at work now than they did a decade ago.

Commenting on the report, NCT Senior Policy Adviser, Elizabeth Duff said:

“Women in the 21st century should never fear making the choice between having a career and a family.

“Action to address this mistreatment is long overdue and it’s great to see the Women and Equalities Committee showing leadership in this area with the report they published today.

“Both government and employers must get their act together to stamp out pregnancy and maternity discrimination once and for all.

Note: Elizabeth Duff also provided evidence to the Women and Equalities Committee evidence session on pregnancy and maternity discrimination on 22 March 2016.
