There has been a notable rise in the number of people with flu who have been admitted to hospital recently, including some with severe H1N1 influenza (swine flu).

Elizabeth Duff, Senior Policy Adviser, NCT, said:

 

“All pregnant women are a priority for the flu vaccine.

 

“If you are expecting a baby, the Department of Health asks that you go to see your GP or midwife wherever you live in the UK. “
