Four MPs from across the political spectrum have joined together to present a vision for the conception to age two period. The 1001 Critical Days manifesto recognises how early years intervention before the age of two is key to transforming our social, health and economic outcomes for the better.

In response to this, NCT Public Affairs Manager Abigail Wood said:

“The 1001 Days Manifesto is an exciting and necessary initiative and NCT is thrilled to see politicians taking this important agenda forward.

“We strongly agree with the recommendation that antenatal classes should cover the physical and emotional aspects of parenthood. It is also crucial that parents have continuity of care following the birth of their child, and wider emotional and practical support through state services.

“The manifesto has NCT’s full support and we are looking forward to bringing our expertise to the table by supporting parents before the birth of their child through antenatal classes, and afterwards through the support offered by our local groups.”
