NCT is culminating its celebrations for Volunteers’ Week 2011 by inviting anyone who has benefited from, or engaged with, support or services run by the charity’s branches to nominate an NCT volunteer for a prestigious award.
NCT Stars Awards, sponsored by Pampers, recognise and celebrate the achievement of those dedicated to ensuring NCT services and support are available for parents and parents-to-be across the UK and Channel Islands. These volunteers could be leading their local branch or region, running Nearly New Sales, campaigning to improve local maternity services or taking on a host of other roles.
Nominations are open from Tuesday June 7th, and the closing date is Friday 9th September.
Visit http://www.nct.org.uk/get-involved/volunteering/nct-star-awards-2011 to nominate a volunteer who has made a difference for parents and NCT.
The award categories are:
1. Bumps & Babies Group of the Year
2. Communication of the Year
3. Fundraising Success of the Year
5. User Rep of the Year
6. Most Supportive Volunteer
6. Most Innovative Volunteer
To celebrate the European Year of the Volunteer, NCT will be holding a special event for NCT Stars shortlisted nominees, winners and supporters on October 26th 2011 at the House of Lords. All shortlisted volunteers will be invited to hear the winners being announced.
Kathryn Skillings, Interim Branch and Volunteers Services Manager, NCT, said: “The charity would not be able to reach all the parents and parents-to-be that we do without our volunteers – they make a fantastic contribution in supporting mums and dads at one of the most important times in their lives, and furthering the work of the charity.
“NCT Stars Awards are a fantastic opportunity for us to celebrate our volunteers’ individual achievements and show our appreciation.”
NCT has over 10,000 volunteers who give their time, energy and skills in more than 300 local branch teams.
