An antenatal practitioner in Sutton Coldfield has been honoured with the Practitioner of the Year Award at the national NCT Stars event.

NCT Stars Awards celebrate and honour the efforts of the charity’s volunteers and practitioners who give their time and skills to support mums and dads in their communities.

Amy Delicate won the award, which is presented to an NCT practitioner who has gone above and beyond to make a significant impact on people’s lives and wellbeing.

Amy has developed a “Birth Experiences Support Group”, the only group of its kind in the West Midlands, which helps parents move on from challenging experiences. Parents have found the group extremely supportive and helpful and Amy’s work has had a significant positive impact on local families’ lives.

Presenting the award at City Hall, London, Virginia Campbell, Head of NCT College, said: “The Stars Awards are a great way to thank some of our fabulous practitioners, who play a vital role by providing high quality courses and workshops for new parents. Amy is someone who has gone the extra mile to support parents with her group work and richly deserves her accolade.”

Amy Delicate said: “I’m delighted to win this award which recognises the work we’re doing in the local branch to support parents. It’s an honour to win during NCT’s 60th anniversary as it’s a reminder of the parents we’ve supported in the area over the years.”

NCT is the UK’s largest charity for parents. For more information about becoming an NCT practitioner, visit its website or call its enquiries line on 0300 330 0770.
