Tills ringing for parents in Kensington & Chelsea

Released on: 12 October 2011

NCT Kensington & Chelsea is thrilled to have been chosen by Whole Foods Market Kensington as their ‘Charity of the Month’ for the next three months.

Whole Foods Market Kensington will be hosting a till drive for the local branch of NCT, the UK’s largest charity for parents, until 31 December. Signs at each till will tell customers about the work of NCT and ask customers to donate £1 or £3 along with their grocery bill.

Kate Perks, Coordinator of NCT Kensington & Chelsea Branch, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Whole Foods Market Kensington has featured our charity in their regular till drive, giving customers the opportunity to donate to our branch as they pay for their shopping.

“Whole Foods Market Kensington has also generously supported us in several local events this year including our Cheeky Monkey Tea Party and Nearly New Sale. They are an increasingly prominent stakeholder in the local community, popular for parents as both a place to meet and a source of fresh, wholesome produce. They are innovative in their approach to engaging with their customers in the local community and have many events and activities aimed specifically at families.

“We are very happy to be associated with them and hope the partnership will continue to flourish.”

NCT Kensington & Chelsea is one of the charity’s network of 318 branches dedicated to supporting parents on their doorstep. Volunteers run Bumps & Babies meet-ups, buggy walks, tea parties, toddler groups and many other events. They also work with parents of premature babies, parents-to-be considering home births and those needing the support of other local parents.

The branch will be hosting their first NCT Nearly New Sale – open to both NCT members and non-members – on Saturday 26 November from 11am to 1pm at St Barnabas Church, 23 Addison Road, Kensington.
