Parents and expectant parents just like you, run our branch. Volunteering is great fun and very rewarding and it's a great way to meet new people and support a great charity - NCT.  It also gives you the opportunity to make a real difference to the impact that the NCT charity has on YOUR local area. Our Blackrod Bumps group was started when the local SureStart centre reduced it's activities. We love to involve members in the organisation and running of our branch, but you dont have to be an NCT member to take part and help out, though membership costs from £10 a year for those on low income, and £40 otherwise . It also looks great on your CV, when in reality you've been having fun with your children and new friends!

You don’t need to take on huge tasks, just commit whatever time you can or help us by making use of your previous experience. The team runs at its best when the workload is split between everyone, as they say many hands make light work, and a number of small contributors does really stack up, and help to keep the team running well - without anyone feeling too pressured, which stops the roles being fun! Some roles, uch as advertising, can be done from home over the internet for a few hours a month. It is a great way to learn new skills, make new friends, and represent the NCT.  Get in touch with us at nwmanchester@nct.org.uk and get involved.
