Volunteers - parents and expectant parents just like you - run our branch.

Are you looking for something to stimulate the mind while baby is napping, or to add to your CV before you return to work? If you have a few hours a week to spare and you'd like to give something back to the NCT, we'd love to hear from you. You don’t need to take on huge tasks, just commit whatever time you can or your previous experience and skills. It is a great way to learn new skills, make new friends, and represent the NCT.

Committee and volunteer posts require different types of people with different skills and there really is something for everyone, no matter how much or little time you think you may have to offer. Support is always given by the Chair and by the committee as a whole.

Online support is also offered to all volunteers by way of online head office material available to all members and online groups where you can exchange handy hints and tips with fellow volunteers in the same role. Not only do you get a sense of pride and achievement for your efforts, you are likely to make new friends and have some useful experience to add to your CV too.

Are you a new parent looking to keep the brain engaged and to meet like-minded local parents while taking care of little ones? Are you organised and do you have access to a computer? Then you could be our Branch's next Secretary.

The Branch Secretary is the administrator for the branch team, working closing with the Branch Co-ordinator. He/she ensures that queries to the branch are directed to the relevant people within the branch, assists the Co-ordinator in knowing what branches are expected to do, plans and organises meetings and helps recruit/ retain volunteers. The Branch Secretary will also support our Social Media Co-ordinator. If you are interested, please send an email to lucy@berksmail.net

Are you good at organisation? Can you talk to anybody? Are you happy asking people to undertake tasks? You have to liaise with the venue, the local PSCO,NCT Head Office (to order chip and pin), organise the movement of sale equipment. Then be there to set up the be at the sale itself to oversee it's smooth running.

Putting together Facebook publicity and regular posting to a good variety of pages. Listing the event on as many online listings as you can find. Looking after the Facebook page as an admin.

Putting together our sale flyer, distributing the flyers and posting them around the area. Putting our sale banners and roadside posters up.

If any of the above roles take your fancy or you would like more information, please email nctnns@hotmail.co.uk

Do you like parties? Would you like to help organise one in our local community? We are looking for a few volunteers to share the role of organising our popular NCT events (Easter party, Cheeky Monkeys’ Tea Party, etc) for local parents and young children. Support will be given by the committee, please contact lucy@berksmail.net if you would like to get involved.

Are you a parent? Would you like to meet new parents in our community over coffee? Would you like to organise coffee mornings at a local pub for new parents to welcome them to the branch? If so, please do not hesitate to contact lucy@berksmail.net. You will be part of a vibrant and energetic team of volunteers who will be happy to help you along.
