NCT’s Chief Executive, Angela McConville has been appointed to NHS England’s Maternity and Neonatal Stakeholder Council.

As a member of the Council, Angela will represent NCT to highlight the diverse experiences and insights from new and expectant parents and how they can be better supported throughout their unique maternity care journeys.

The Stakeholder Council is comprised of influential maternity representatives, including clinicians, academics, professional bodies, frontline staff, service users and other national charities. Together, they contribute to the oversight of NHS England’s Maternity and Neonatal Programme, as its members work towards the objectives from the three-year delivery plan for maternity and neonatal services.

Angela said: “I look forward to working collaboratively with other members of the Council, who bring a wealth of expertise, insight and experiences, especially the diversity of parents’ experiences of maternity and neonatal care. Together, we will listen, learn and collectively strive for improvements in maternity services to achieve truly personalised, equitable and culturally safe care for all women, new parents and their babies.”
