Becoming a mother is a life-changing experience. So help to prepare yourself by spending time with other new mums in the same boat. You’ll learn from each other’s experiences and build your confidence on our Early Days course.

Your first few months as a mother can feel amazing – and overwhelming at the same time. It’s normal to feel uncertain as you begin to find your feet.
NCT Early Days introduces you to a supportive group of new mums, while bringing you the skills you need to adjust. Here you’ll get all the information you need to confidently parent your new baby and navigate your relationships.
What to expect
Expert course leaders
Our warm, supportive course leaders bring years of personal and professional experience to every session. Always happy to listen, help and work through questions, all our course leaders are trained to the highest standard by NCT.
A close-knit network
NCT Early Days classes are for mums with babies under 6 months – you can bring your babe-in-arms with you. Whether or not you make lifelong friends, these classes mean you’ll have a close group around you during those important early days.
An informed approach
We want you to feel confident that you’re making the right decisions for your family. So we help you explore parenting objectively and consider what might work for you and your baby.
We’ll also bring you the latest, evidence-based information and techniques, so you can make informed decisions.
What you’ll learn
Early care
Our Early Days courses don’t cover set topics – your course leader will talk about the issues that are most important to the group. But you’re likely to talk about infant sleeping, managing and calming crying, understanding your baby, feeding experiences and decisions, and your baby’s development.
Self-care
Looking after your baby is important, but so is looking after yourself. It’s important to make sure your needs are met, too. We’ll talk about common issues new mums face – from the impact of your baby on your relationship, to sex after childbirth and returning to work.
Shared experiences
Sharing your stories and anxieties with other mums can really help you feel better. You’ll realise that no problem is unique, and that many of your worries are shared by other mums. From your birth experiences to your worries about parenting, you can share safely here.
