Local support for breastfeeding
Breastfeeding Drop-In Support Group (Baldock)
Every Tuesday from 11.00-12.30pm via Zoom
Please request log-in details by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by sending a message to the NCT Herts North facebook page.
At the Breastfeeding Drop-In you can:
- discuss your breastfeeding with a specialist
- ask someone to check your positioning (please remember to bring baby hungry if you would like someone to observe a feed or check your positioning)
- get information and support
No need to phone beforehand, just drop-in! Dads and other supporters welcome too.
Breastfeeding can sometimes be surprisingly difficult. Everybody has heard the message that 'Breast is Best', but doing the natural thing does not always come naturally. You may find feeding painful, or feel overwhelmed by it all. Help, information and support is offered at the Baldock Breastfeeding Drop-In.
We aim to provide all mothers and their babies with a place to come that is relaxed and comfortable, and where they can find skilled help and support with issues such as:
- sore nipples
- slow weight gain
- expressing milk
- stopping breastfeeding
- baby feeding constantly
- returning to work
You can also get advice on expressing breast-milk at the drop in session. Please bring a sterile pump with you if you want help expressing.
Breastfeeding Network - The Herts North and Stevenage branch of the National Breastfeeding Network offer support via the main helpline (0300) 2000212 (available from 9.30am to 9.30pm) or via their Facebook page, where you can message them and they will contact you to arrange a time to call, or you can also join their closed Facebook group.
