At Redbridge & District NCT, our aim is to support Redbridge parents in as many ways as possible. After a successful pilot, supporting 46 families in Redbridge, we are delighted to continue our “Baby Bundles” project.
Baby Bundles are packs of toiletries, clothes and equipment given to families who through poverty, premature birth, violence or events such as fire or flood, find themselves without the resources to buy the things they need for their labour and the first few weeks with their new baby.
How it Works
NCT Redbridge & District source donations, package up the bundle of baby essentials into a Moses basket and deliver the bundles to local baby banks. The bundle is intended to support a family through the first few weeks of the baby's arrival. We work closely with Redbridge Children's centres and in some cases, a practitioner may collect bundles on behalf of the families they work with.
The free baby bundles will contain a few essential items and we are currently looking for donations of the following:
- Moses basket
- Moses basket stand
- Baby carrier/ sling
- Top and tail dish
- Changing bag
- Steriliser (excluding electronic models
- Baby toys (small soft toys or teething toys, baby pram books, etc.)
Clothes and Blankets:
- Baby clothes (sizes newborn, 1 month or 0-3 months)
- Hooded bath towel
- Muslin Squares
- Moses Basket linen
- Cot Linen
- Reusable or disposable nappies (sizes 0-2)
- Sanitary towels & breast pads Unopened/New packs ONLY
- Baby toiletries (baby bath/shampoo, un-fragranced wipes, nappy sacks, nappy cream or cotton wool balls) Unopened/New packs ONLY
Please note that we cannot take cots, buggies, stairgates, car seats or high chairs.
We are also looking to reuse materials that can be used to package the bundles up (e.g. used cellophane, fabric gift bags, bubble wrap etc). If you have any material leftover, please let us know.
Please email Amy on firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange to deliver the items. Please note we are unable to arrange for our volunteers to collect items.
