Support and information from NCT
NCT offers reliable support and information about the various stages of pregnancy, week by week.
Your developing baby
Your baby is about 46cm long and weighs about 2.5kg. Perfectly formed now, they will only grow a bit more, reaching about 50cm when you are due. However, they will put on up to 1kg over the next four weeks.
Your baby can turn their head. They also have fully formed fingernails and may even scratch themselves.
You've got that 'nesting' feeling!
You may start getting the urge to clean and prepare your home for your baby. It’s a sign you’ll be welcoming your new arrival soon. ‘Nesting’ is a much talked about symptom of pregnancy in the third trimester.
It’s very common to have the overwhelming need to decorate your house, organise your wardrobe and clean everything in sight. If you’re feeling energetic, you could put your ‘nesting’ energy to good use and make some meals to put in the freezer. There’s unlikely to be much time for cooking in the early days after the baby is born.
Feeding your baby
One of your most important roles as a new parent will be feeding your baby, but it’s also a learning curve. You'll probably have lots of questions about how to feed your baby.
Whether you're planning to breastfeed, bottle feed or a combination of both, we have lots of useful information on our website.
