“There are many different formula milk brands on the market making different claims and their cost varies hugely. This can be very confusing for parents and significantly impacts on some family budgets. In some cases, families resort to unsafe practices in order to feed their babies. This is despite all infant formula milks meeting the same legal requirements to support growth and nutrition.
“It’s really important that all parents have access to independent information and support for feeding their babies, which is free of commercial interest. Additionally, families who are experiencing food insecurity or financial crisis should have clear pathways to financial and practical support.
