To help keep you safe indoors NCT will:

  • Ensure venues are Covid-safe.
  • Follow national Covid guidance to determine maximum attending numbers.
  • Set up room seating and activities so social distancing can be maintained at all times (2 metres).
  • Take safe steps to ensure rooms are adequately ventilated and high-contact areas and equipment are cleaned to maintain Covid-safe practices.
  • Provide hand sanitiser where not available.
  • Only provide equipment or materials on a single-use basis.
  • Ensure that only one person makes drinks for the group if in a venue with facilities to do so; avoiding self-service where multiple people touch the same items.
  • Support national Covid-19 contact tracing services.
  • Provide alternative delivery options for course sessions affected by circumstances related to the risk of Covid-19 infection within the course group.
  • Provide alternative options for course sessions missed due to circumstances related to Covid-19.

To help keep everyone safe you need to:

  • Strongly consider wearing a face covering when you are less than 2 metres away from others. Wearing a face covering can help protect you and others.
  • Be respectful and give people space. Not everyone has been vaccinated against Covid-19 and some people may in the third trimester of pregnancy, feel anxious or be in a high-risk group.
  • Wash or sanitise your hands regularly. Catch any coughs or sneezes and dispose of tissues hygienically.
  • Use on-site toilet facilities at your own risk.
  • Use on-site baby-change facilities at your own risk and bring your own baby-change mat if possible (applicable to reunion sessions).
  • Please do not share food and drink and bring your own refreshments where possible (depending upon venue facilities NCT may be unable to provide refreshments).
  • Leave the session if you develop Covid-19 symptoms.
  • Notify your course leader and not attend a session if you have Covid-19 symptoms, a positive Covid-19 test or are required to self-isolate in line with national guidance. We'll provide alternative options.
  • Consider not attending a session if you are a close contact of someone who has tested positive (e.g. you live with someone who has tested positive) but are not required by national guidance to self-isolate. This will help minimise risk to anyone in your course group who is in their third trimester of pregnancy, in a high risk group or not vaccinated against Covid-19. We'll provide alternative options.
  • Notify your course leader if you test positive for Covid-19 within 48 hours of attending a session.
  • Swap to online Zoom session delivery should circumstances related to risk of Covid-19 infection require this (e.g. course leader tests positive for Covid-19 or needs to self-isolate in-line with national guidance).
