NCT Courses and Covid-19

Until the end of February 2021 our courses are online. Currently, due to rising Covid-19 infection rates and official guidance for pregnant women, online is the only way we can safely and practically deliver local, fully interactive and inclusive courses – a decision supported by the Royal College of Midwives.

We know how much you value our in-person courses so we’re keeping our options open for courses from March 2021 onwards. Currently you can still book these as in-person classes but we’ll only bring people back together in venues once it is safe to do so. We’ll never put you, your baby or your family at risk.

To understand more about why we're delivering our courses online please read our course FAQs. Our website also has an up-to-date section on Covid-19 pregnancy and birth information.

Our Covid-19 Price Promise: If you book a course that is already being delivered online you’ll receive a 15% discount at the time of booking. If you book a course that is currently offered as in-person, we’ll give you back 15% of your course fee if we need to move it online to ensure your safety.

About Julie

Julie has three children, each of whom was born in a different setting. She believes passionately in empowering women and their partners so they can have a positive birth experience, however their labour unfolds.

She believes in a woman’s innate ability to give birth. Research illustrates women who are given continuous one-to-one support by a female companion during labour often experience shorter and less painful labours. Julie’s role is not to replace the partner (unless they are unable or unwilling to attend) but to work together with them to provide physical, practical and emotional support to mum.

When talking to couples at class reunions, they frequently express that it was hard to remember all that they learned while they were experiencing the intensity of labour and birth, especially when their birth didn’t quite happen as they had hoped. As a doula, Julie can help by offering practical ideas and support and by facilitating communication with medical staff, ensuring that the birth plan is adhered to as closely as possible.

Whether you hope for a natural birth, or cannot face the thought of labour without an epidural, deciding whether to book a doula can be a big decision. Julie is very happy to meet with you informally over a cup of tea or a chat on the telephone to discuss whether this service is right for you.

"Your support leading up to the birth and your support on the day made a huge difference for me. It took away much of the anxiety about going to hospital to have my baby"
