We are proud of our award-winning Nappy Library, which helps support parents who want to explore using re-usable cloth nappies.

Nappies on a washing line

Cloth nappies are a great alternative to disposables; they are better for the environment, cheaper, you avoid harsh chemicals near your baby's bottom, plus they look cool as well. With so many brands out there, it's difficult to know where to start, and cloth nappies can seem a daunting prospect for new or expectant parents. Ensuring a good fit makes all the difference to whether they will work for you, and a chance to connect with people experienced in using cloth nappies is invaluable.

Run by volunteers, our nappy library aims to provide impartial advice and support to families interested in cloth nappies.

We've been working hard however, to ensure we have processes in place to comply with Covid-19 regulations to allow contactless collections and returns. This is as new for us as it is for you, so we hope you'll all bear with us as we get things going again!

Did you know that Nappy Library is back?

Here’s a reminder of how it works:

Each of our lovely Nappy Library volunteers now has an "EPIC black box" living with them, to allow us to quarantine our kits and carry out contactless collections and returns.

After you have put in a request to hire, you will be matched with a volunteer based on your location. All communication will be done via text and email, and we have an online secure payment system to allow you to make payment with peace of mind. Together with your volunteer you will agree on a time and place to meet for your collection 72 hours (at least) before your meet, your kit will be placed in the "Epic Black Box" for quarantining.

At the time of your meet your volunteer will ensure the box has been handled with gloves and wiped down with wipes. You'll also be offered hand sanitiser and gloves before you open up the box to remove your kit yourself and take it away with you.

You'll be sent all care and documents via email, and online support will be available throughout the duration of the hire.

A week before your kit is due back, your volunteer will be back in touch to arrange another meet. You'll be invited to put your kit in the box where it will again remain for 72hours. After this quarantine period, your volunteer will have the chance to check through your return to ensure all is in order, at which point your deposit will be returned to you.

At any time during the above processes, if you or any members of your household develop Covid-19 symptoms, or come in to contact with a positive case, we ask that you let your volunteer know and don’t go ahead with any meets. If this means you cannot return your kit on time your hire will be extended until you are symptom free at no extra charge.

The comfort and safety of our volunteers and customers is of utmost importance to us, and we hope you agree that the above systems will ensure this.

If you've been deliberating over whether or not to dive in to the world of reusable nappies, now is the perfect chance!
