Bath & District

Our dedicated Volunteers recognise the value of parents supporting parents. We run a friendly and informal Postnatal Drop-in on Fridays in central Bath (Percy Community Centre) All updates on www.facebook.com/BathNCT

Welcome!

Pregnancy, birth and early parenthood are amazing and unique experiences in any parent’s life. By providing plenty of information, encouragement and friendly parent-to-parent support, we can help to make experiences of parenthood as positive as possible.

Most of us at the Bath & District branch became involved after we ourselves were helped by the NCT. Like all NCT branches, this branch is run and supported solely by volunteers. We offer support, information and friendship to new parents and parents-to-be. We are a registered charity, run by parents, for parents.

Since our Annual Members' Meeting  on Thursday 26th May 2016 we no longer have a Branch Coordinator. If you would like further information about activities and support that the branch offer, please contact one of our many volunteers direct, or call into one of our support groups.

Branch Activities are listed below.

Percy NCT Bumps, Babies and Toddlers

Bumps, Babies and Toddlers, Percy Community Centre, New King Street, Bath

Fridays 1pm until 3pm Term-time only but check https://www.facebook.com/BathNCT/ if making a special trip as we are often open during the school holidays.

Volunteer Ruth from Bath Cloth Nappy Library attends most weeks with information about Cloth Nappies. Please check https://www.facebook.com/bathclothnappylibrary/  or email: bathclothnappylibrary@gmail.com  if you are making a special trip to see her.

Please be aware that this is NOT a traditional Toddler Group. Toddlers who attend are usually coming with a parent who also has a newborn baby or is expecting their second or third baby. We have very limited space at the Percy Community Centre. If you would like to help the Bath & District NCT set up a Toddler group in Bath, please contact us by email: membership.BathAndDistrict@nct.org.uk

£2 donation per family.

Heather, who is an NCT Breastfeeding Counsellor and IBCLC (Lactation Consultant) and a small team of volunteer mums, would like to warmly welcome you, your bump, your baby or your toddler (or even all 3!) to the Friday Percy NCT Bumps, Babies and Toddler group at Percy Community Centre.

A place where you can find parenting support, chat and play. Delicious homemade cakes, fresh fruit and a wide selection of herbal teas and real coffee for just £2 per adult.

A Volunteer Breastfeeding Counsellor/IBCLC or Breastfeeding Peer Supporter will try to be at the group each week.

Valley Cushion Hire

The Valley Cushion is hygienic and easy to use, and feedback from mothers who have used it has been hugely positive, in fact, some mothers have said that they would have been less inclined to breastfeed in the early days, if it weren't for the cushion.

The Valley Cushion was scientifically designed as an alternative to the ring cushion which has proved to be unsatisfactory over the years. It has two adjustable inflatable bags positioned either side of a unique central channel, allowing you to adjust the level of support, whilst ensuring that sore areas are kept from painful pressure.

Please contact: Maxine Palmer on 07976 613 013 or Harriet Symon: 07775 645 877

It costs £15 for 5-day hire

Check out our https://www.facebook.com/BathNCT/ for info & updates.
