In response to the news that mothers who work for Jersey's government will now be paid to take breastfeeding breaks, Elizabeth Duff, Senior Policy Adviser, NCT, said:
“This is good news for breastfeeding mothers who work for the Jersey government and should make life a little easier for them.
“We’d like to see the UK governments following suit. Currently UK law doesn’t dictate that there should be paid breastfeeding breaks, but employers must consider any health and safety issues for its workforce.
“We think giving mums paid breastfeeding breaks sends the positive message that their place of work welcomes and supports them.”
