Claire is currently a student NCT Doula. An important part of training for this role is that Claire is required to support a woman or couple through birth with the support of the NCT Doula tutors. The fee for Claire to support you has been appropriately set to recognise the fact that she is a student.

Would you like Claire to be your doula?

About Claire

Claire is heavily inspired by the saying “it takes a village.” She wants to provide a service that enables expectant parents to feel seen and heard throughout pregnancy, birth and beyond. Claire passionately believes that with solid support, knowledge, and preparation, the journey to parenthood can be transformative, positive, and beautiful.

Her strengths lie in emotional and practical support - whenever you feel like you need a friendly, listening ear or an extra pair of hands, she can help. Everyone should have a village and Claire would be honoured to be a part of yours. She resides in Bristol and is happy to travel 45 mins to 1 hour outside of the city.

While studying, Claire is inhaling information related to birth preparation and birth techniques. Should you wish, she can guide you and/or your birth partner through helpful massage techniques for labour, positions/movements you can try and pain management options (including self-help skills) for home or hospital birth. Having had experience in multiple birth scenarios, Claire can provide calm 1:1 support for you and/or your birth partner throughout your experience. This includes postnatally; she can be a familiar face who can stay and patiently provide support with feeding your newborn.

Claire believes birth and the moments after are hugely important in the bonding experience for both parents - she can encourage partners with ways they can feel involved, she can take pictures/videos (should you wish) and try to make your experience one that you can look back on positively which can play a key role in having positive mental health on your journey as a parent.

Having a ‘village’ has been imperative to Claire’s experience of motherhood. With hindsight, and her newfound knowledge of the role of a doula, Claire can confidently say she wishes she had a birth doula, and this drives her to provide the support to her fellow parents and parents to be.
