When I started volunteering for NCT as a Social Media Coordinator, I didn’t have any knowledge or connection to the charity. I also don’t have any children, unlike many NCT volunteers.

I had graduated from university and was lost as to what to do next. I realised I didn’t have much ‘real-world’ experience that could help me to pursue a career. I decided I wanted to dedicate some time to volunteering for a charity, as I had never done so before.

"NCT was perfect as it offered me a lot in return. I am learning how a nationwide charity operates and gaining skills along the way!"

What I like about my role is that I’m given just enough responsibility to feel like I am part of something that is doing a lot of good, but not too much responsibility that I feel daunted or overwhelmed.

"Everyone on the team has been very welcoming and encouraged me to get the most out of volunteering that I can."

Now, as a Regional Co-ordinator, I have a lot more confidence and clarity of the difference that I could make!
