This is a pivotal and energising moment in NCT’s journey. As we look ahead to our 70th anniversary in 2026, we’re continuing to be driven by the needs of parents. As a trustee, you’ll play a vital role in guiding this evolution — helping us stay true to our values while reaching further and making a deeper difference in the lives of pregnant women and people, new parents and families across the UK.

The role of trustees
Trustees are at the heart of our charity governance and leadership, setting our strategy and guiding NCT to achieve our mission. They bring vision, leadership, challenge, expertise and lived experience that set the strategic direction of NCT, guiding us as we grow our reach, deepening our impact, and staying true to our values.
Stand for election in 2025
We’re now inviting nominations for four trustees, including the role of President, who is also a trustee. This is a powerful opportunity to contribute to a cause that matters deeply to millions of people across the UK and to help ensure that every parent feels supported in their unique pregnancy and early parenting journey.
Three of our current trustees are eligible to stand for election/re-election and have indicated their intention to do so. One of our trustees, Chi, has recently stepped down, to take a period of maternity leave, and on behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Chi sincerely for her commitment and contribution over her term as a trustee.
Why join our Board?
Because every parent deserves to feel confident, connected and safe, and we need your voice and experience to help make that a reality. We are actively working to build a diverse, inclusive Board that reflects the people and communities we serve and the lives we seek to impact.
Based on the current profile of our Board of Trustees, we especially welcome applications from:
- Individuals under the age of 35
- Solo parents
- People from Black, Asian, and ethnically diverse backgrounds/communities
- Parents living in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland
- Those with lived or professional experience in maternity, neonatal and perinatal education, practice and care, particularly those with campaigning, public affairs and advocacy experience
- Experts in marketing, digital innovation and/or digital service delivery
- People with professional experience in safeguarding and health & safety
We believe the strength of our leadership lies in a diversity of voices and experiences. Whether you’re an experienced board member or considering your first trustee role, if you care deeply about shaping a more equitable, inclusive future for parents, we want to hear from you.
We’ll provide the support, training and mentorship you need to thrive as an NCT trustee.

- 25 June 2025: Call for candidates & Expression of Interest (42-day window - closes 7 August 2025)
- 26 June 2025 – 25 July 2025: NCT support available to candidates in preparing their nominations, if required
- 7 August 2025: Deadline for Expressions of Interest
- 21 August 2025: Deadline for Nominations
- 1 September 2025: Voting opens
- 9 November 2025 (23:59): Voting closes
- 10 November 2025: Deadline for candidates to confirm with Company Secretary that they have campaigned within the election code of conduct and rules
- 19 November 2025: Election results announced at NCT's 2025 AGM.
