I was a student at university when I saw an advert for a voluntary Web and Social Media Coordinator role at Hexham and Tynedale Branch. I hadn’t heard of NCT before and wasn't a parent, but having had experience in setting up and running social media and websites for other organisations, I thought this would be a great opportunity for me to do something I enjoy.

After looking into the organisation and asking friends and family about it, I found that a lot of people had their own stories about how much NCT had helped them, not only when they were pregnant but also after having children, and how important the classes had been for them to learn and to meet new people.

"I had no idea how well-known NCT was, or how many services they provided and I am still in awe at how much they do for parents."

I’m still learning about NCT every day, and it feels great to be a part of something that supports people in the local community as well as nationally.
