Thousands of excellent quality maternity, baby, and children-related items all arranged by type, so it’s easy to shop. You do not need to be an NCT member to sell or buy.

Children's clothing on rails

Our next sale is being held at St James School in Ashford on Sunday 20th October from 2.15-3.15pm (entry from 2pm for NCT members). It’s a fantastic opportunity to shop for high quality, preloved baby and children's clothing and shoes (0-9yrs), maternity wear, nursery equipment, toys, books and more.  Have an Autumn clear out before Christmas and book your sellers space to earn a little extra money before Christmas. Come along to buy your new Winter wardrobe and find a range of new-to-you toys, games, books and useful equipment as well Christmas presents.

For those of you haven’t been to a NCT Nearly New sale before, you may be wondering how a sorted sale works?

Items from all sellers will be sorted into categories, giving a department store-style shopping experience, which is unique to the NCT and makes for easy browsing and shopping.

What this means:

Sellers - you drop off your items at the start of the day and collect unsold items at the end, no need to worry about displaying/haggling and no need to stay all day (but if you are able to stay, volunteering has lots of benefits!). It’s a great chance for a sort out before all the new Christmas presents.

Buyers - you will find items conveniently organised by type, so if you`re looking for 6–9-month clothing for example, these will all be on display together on one rail! Entrance to the sale is £2.00 per adult, children are free, we also welcome buggies as there's plenty of room.

Volunteers - WE NEED YOU! To run this kind of sale we require a lot of helpers to sort items at the beginning and end of the day. There are various shifts available and lots of perks including our preview sale - it`s also great fun!

If you have any questions, please email nns.sae@nct.org.uk and we'll get back to you.

Selling at our sale

The sellers pack at the bottom of the page contains all the details you need to know to understand how our sale works and what sellers need to do.  If you'd like more information after reading that please email NNS.SAE@nct.org.uk

Sellers will receive labels in advance of the sale, dropping their items off the morning of the sale for volunteers to sort out into categories, making it easier for buyers to find what they are after during the sale.

NCT deducts 30% from your sales total to cover the costs of the event (location hire etc), any surplus after these costs are paid is split between our local activities to support mums and dads (Bumps and Babes, Jolly Tots and the Sling and Nappy library) and the charity’s national work to prepare families for birth and early parenthood.  The nearly new sale is usually our biggest fundraising activity.  This deduction is reduced if you volunteer at the event (see below).

Volunteering at our sale

We rely on as many volunteers as possible to help make this sale run smoothly. There are many different roles available, such as putting out items, manning the tills, greeting people at the door, totalling up sellers sheets, plus many more. No experience is required!

If you are a seller at the sale, please consider volunteering as you will receive a discount on the sales deduction. Fancy getting the first pick of the bargains? Volunteers have priority shopping before the sale opens.

If you think you may be interested in volunteering, or have any questions, please contact NNS.SAE@nct.org.uk.
