Angela McConville to step down as Chief Executive of NCT

Angela leaves after more than six and a half years leading the UK’s charity for pregnancy, parents and progress, having overseen a period of significant change, growth and renewal for the charity. 

Within weeks of Angela’s arrival at NCT in 2020, the pandemic transformed how NCT supported women and parents, requiring services, courses and community activities to adapt almost overnight. Under her leadership, NCT continued to provide trusted information, connection and support to hundreds of thousands of pregnant women and new parents across the UK. 

During her time as Chief Executive, Angela developed and launched NCT’s For Every Parent strategy, strengthened its commitment to equity, inclusion and anti-discrimination, led the renewal of the charity’s vision and values, refreshed its brand, diversified its income streams and expanded partnerships across the charity, public and commercial sectors. Under Angela’s leadership the charity also achieved Trusted Information Creator status and was voted by parents Antenatal Provider of the Year in both 2025 and 2026.

"From guiding the organisation through the pandemic, to leading our For Every Parent strategy and refreshing our brand, Angela has helped shape an NCT that is deeply rooted in its purpose while responding to the realities of contemporary pregnancy and parenthood.

"As we celebrate NCT’s 70th anniversary, her impact on our charity will be felt for many years to come. On behalf of our trustees, staff, practitioners, volunteers and supporters, I want to thank Angela for her leadership, commitment and friendship. While we will miss her greatly, we could not be more delighted for her as she begins this exciting new chapter."

"Leading NCT has been one of the greatest privileges of my career.

"Over the last six and a half years I've had the opportunity to meet pregnant women and new parents in communities right across the UK and see first-hand the difference that trusted information, local support and human connection can make during pregnancy and early parenthood.

"From NCT Baby Cafés and NCT Antenatal classes to Nearly New Sales and Walk & Talk groups, I have been continually inspired by the passion, commitment and generosity of the people who make NCT what it is.

"Together we have achieved a great deal, and I'm proud of the role NCT continues to play in supporting parents and championing improvements in maternity and postnatal care. I will always be an advocate for women, babies and parents, and I will take everything I have learned at NCT into my new role."

The Board of Trustees has appointed Tope Medupin, NCT's Director of Parent Services, as Acting Chief Executive from 2 October, whilst the Board undertakes a full recruitment process to appoint a new permanent Chief Executive.

Angela will continue to work closely with the Board and leadership team over the coming months, supporting the transition and helping ensure NCT is well placed for its next chapter.
