In light of the unrest, marches, and racially motivated attacks in several communities across the UK this weekend and in recent weeks, NCT stands with all pregnant women, new parents, families and communities who may be feeling worried, unsettled or unsafe, as well as those working and volunteering in maternity and postnatal care who continue to provide vital support in these challenging times.

That means creating services and spaces where all parents - whatever their background, identity, decisions or circumstances - feel confident, connected and safe. As a charity, we want to be absolutely clear: racism and discrimination have no place here. We stand firmly for respect, dignity, and inclusion.
Our commitment to tackling health inequalities means that our work often takes place in the heart of diverse communities, and alongside women and parents, and communities, experiencing discrimination, hostility and disadvantage. We know that moments like these can be especially hard for women, new parents and families who already face additional pressures or barriers to get the support and care they deserve. Our role is to listen, to provide trusted information, support and services, to campaign for change, and to ensure inclusion is at the heart of everything we do.
