NCT welcomes the appointment of panel to review maternity and neonatal services in Wales, but cautions over lack of focus on equity. An NCT spokesperson said:
“While the Welsh Government’s review of maternity and neonatal services is welcome and aligns with the national investigation in England, it’s concerning that the panel lacks clear expertise in the delivery of equitable maternity care.
"To ensure everyone has access to safe, personalised, and culturally competent care, disparities must be addressed and the voices of those most affected by poor quality maternity care must be listened to.
“The review must also be deeply informed by the experiences of maternity and neonatal staff working within the system every day.”
