Commenting on the verdict in the Lucy Letby case, Angela McConville, Chief Executive at NCT said:

“On behalf of everyone at NCT I want to express my heartfelt sadness and condolences to the families at the centre of this tragic case. I also want to acknowledge the impact today’s verdict will have on the committed healthcare professionals working across the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust, as well as the wider NHS, this does nothing to diminish the invaluable care and support they provide to parents and their babies every day. My thoughts and deep sympathies remain with the families affected.

"I would encourage anyone needing support to contact our partners at Sands. Sands has a Support Chat service with a trained bereavement counsellor for parents whose baby has died. It’s available Monday to Friday, 9am to 9pm. You can also ring the free-to-call Sands National Helpline on 0808 164 33322."
