The course was amazing. I learnt so much and feel so much more confident in what my body is going through to grow a baby, what will occur during labour and delivery and all the possible outcomes dependent on how things progress, and what to expect and do after baby is born.
As someone who had already had a baby, I thought I wouldn’t learn much from the course and this was more to refresh my knowledge and help my 1st time partner to feel more confident, but I can honestly say I learnt so much more and feel incredibly prepared for baby. I would highly recommend this course to anyone expecting a baby.
I look forward to joining the NCT breastfeeding support groups once my little one is here.
I went in with no knowledge at all, wondered whether I would actually get anything from the course and whether it would be worth it. It was late in the evening (for me!) to be out and learning. Well… after the battle to get me to go to the first session. I was the one stood by the door ready and waiting to head out for subsequent sessions! I learnt a HUGE amount and our session leader was absolutely amazing. If you have Amanda for your sessions then you are in safe hands. Her knowledge is incredibly complete on all aspects of the journey of having a baby and looking after it. he is fantastic! If you are a ‘birthing partner’ and wondering if it’s worth the price, time and (relatively) late evening out learning then in my experience, it’s a certain YES.
Our NCT leader Hanna was amazing - she made us feel so comfortable to share anything and put us immediately at ease. I can't say enough about her and the amazing, open and friendly atmosphere that she created in the space. Before NCT, we had done a few online courses (both free & paid) and honestly, they weren't a patch on the NCT class with Hanna. As I had decided to have a C section, I felt really alienated from a lot of the information in the other courses but in this case I felt so included all the way throughout and the information included on C sections was so useful and open minded. Hanna helped me feel really empowered to advocate for myself during my birth and to be aware of the options that are available to me as someone having a C section.

We use your expected due date to determine how suitable a class is for you.
Ideally we want the class to end 3-7 weeks before you're due, but that can be expanded to 2-9 weeks. You will see classes marked as ideal, good, ok and not suitable in the results.
Other personal factors you should consider are:
We allow a max of 18 people (up to 9 pairs), but on average it’s 10 to 14 people. We keep our groups small, so there’s more time to connect, ask questions and get to know each other.
We can't tell you exactly what will be taught in each session because the number and length of sessions can differ between scheduled courses, and your course leader will tailor the content to the needs of the group.
We can tell you that all our courses will cover topics within the following key themes:
We encourage you to book a class where you can make all sessions, as we can't move you into a session in a different class.
Depending on circumstances, we can offer you an online replacement session that will cover one of the five core themes. See our terms and conditions for details.
We understand things don’t always go to plan. You can cancel a booking within 14 days of confirmation without charge. There’s also options for changing your booking. Find out more about cancellation and refunds.
Absolutely. We want to make our courses accessible to all. Please let us know in advance if you have specific accessibility requirements - you can get in touch with us via email at booking.support@nct.org.uk, web chat or by calling 0300 330 0700 (option 2).
Interest-free instalments are available when there is enough time to have monthly instalments between the booking date and the start of the class - this will be indicated on the class when you search.
We offer discounts to households earning less than £35,000 per year. Find out more about our class discounts and eligibility.
