Our Baby Bundles project is designed to support pregnant women and new families in difficult circumstances. We collate emergency packs of donated baby basics, including toiletries, clothes and equipment to vulnerable women and families in the Plymouth area.
We collect the items on designated days at our Bumps and Babies groups. Some items are donated, and others are purchased new using money raised by the branch through fundraising events. The bundles are then put together by volunteers and distributed to those in need through established connections, including Children’s Centres across the city.
Beneficiaries of the scheme could include victims of domestic violence, refugees or asylum seekers, lone parents, women from low income household, women with mental health issues and young, disadvantaged mums.
The bundles generally include:
- Baby clothes
- Reusable or disposable nappies & wipes
- Blankets & sheets
- Baby toys
- Toiletries for both mother and baby
