Walk and Talk

Thursdays, 10.30am – 11.30am, various locations

Hosted by local mum Alex and Rachel0, our Walk and Talk group is suitable for new parents/carers, walking from various locations every week, our Walk and Talks offer and opportunity to meet and socialise with other parents/carers even under lockdown conditions. All Walk and Talks are free of charge and are conducted under strict operation procedures and risk assessments ensuring the safety of all attendees.

All walks are buggy friendly and take approximately 1 hour, the route may be muddy and will proceed in all weather conditions so appropriate clothing and footwear is a must. Watch our Facebook page for the latest details on each week’s walk and the link to book your ticket.

Our Walk and Talk group is a friendly place to meet other local new parents. You can share your experiences with people going through the same things. It’s a great reason to get out of the house if everything seems too much or overwhelming. And simply an easy way to socialise with other local parents.

Important information - please read:

The safety of everyone attending our walks is our number one priority. Please do not attend the walk if you are shielding, symptomatic or in a period of self-isolation. Social distancing guidelines are to be adhered to at all times.

By sharing attendee information with the NHS when requested, we can help identify people who have been exposed to coronavirus and help trace close recent contacts of anyone who tests positive. By booking a ticket you agree to your data being shared with the NHS tracing services if it is specifically requested.

Once you have confirmed your place on the walk you will receive an email containing further information about the walk. This will include where we are meeting, how to recognise our volunteers and guidance to help keep you and our volunteers safe.

Tickets must be booked each week to enable us to limit numbers and conduct contact tracing if required, book you tickets here: https://linktr.ee/DurhamNCT

Suitable for expectant mums right up until your little one becomes mobile, we have a lovely selection of comfy bouncy chairs, play mats and toys as well as a hot cuppa and biscuits for parents.

Expectant mums are free, then it is just £2-3 a week to attend.

PRICING - PAY AS YOU CAN

The NCT is a charity and we receive no funding to run Bumps and Babies, at maximum capacity it costs £3

per week to run this session so it has been necessary to increase the price of attendance to cover our costs.

We are also conscious of how hard lockdown has been for many, so we have created two ticket prices so

you can book on a 'pay as you can' basis.

Bumps and babies is a friendly group and great place to meet other local parents with similarly aged babies. You can share your experiences with people going through the same things. It’s a great reason to get out of the house if everything seems too much or overwhelming. And simply an easy way to socialise with other local parents.

We look forward to seeing you there!
