About NCT

NCT is a charity with a clear mission: to support people as they become parents, through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood.

With a 65-year history of transformative change, we are a vibrant community of volunteers, practitioners, peer supporters, members and advocates. We are the largest parenting charity in the country and over the decades we’ve supported millions of people on their unique journey into parenthood.

While many know us for our antenatal classes, we also do much more. We campaign on issues that matter to parents, provide infant feeding support, and run thousands of free community events and activities led by our amazing volunteers. We also support families facing challenges like social isolation, feeding difficulties, and poor mental health. We offer support in communities, in hospitals and online.

About the role

We're looking for a Content & Social Media Manager to lead NCT’s content production and social media activity, helping us connect with new and expectant parents through engaging, audience-focused content across our wide range of channels.

You'll be comfortable leading the Content Studio and developing high-quality content across video, email, web and other assets, while also taking ownership to manage NCT's social media channels, building engagement and identifying opportunities to jump on trends.

Working closely with colleagues across Marketing, Communications and Fundraising & Strategic Partnerships, you'll help bring marketing campaigns to life, support income-generating partnership activity and strengthen NCT's brand to ensure parents continue to see us as a trusted source of support throughout pregnancy and early parenthood.

You’ll work alongside and coach a Content & Social Media Officer, and enjoy blending hands-on delivery with strategic thinking. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment where one day you might be developing assets and writing copy for a major campaign launch in a few weeks, and the next you’ll be producing social-first content reacting to a political announcement that day.

The role will include:

  • Leading on the development and creation of engaging content across a range of channels including social, email, web, video and other campaign assets.
  • Producing compelling copy, visual assets and short-from video content that reflect NCT's tone of voice and brand messaging.
  • Managing NCT's social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok.
  • Planning and coordinating social activity in line with campaign and organisational priorities, as well as identifying and acting on reactive and real-time opportunities.
  • Leading day-to-day operation of Content Studio and working collaboratively with teams across Marketing, Communications and Fundraising to hit deadlines.
  • Using data and insights to continuously improve content performance and audience engagement.
  • Supporting and coaching a Content & Social Media Officer.

About you

We're looking for an experienced content and social media professional who is just as comfortable creating engaging content as they are managing social channels.

You'll have a proven track record of producing high-quality content across a range of channels and be confident taking a project from initial idea and brief through to delivery. Whether you're writing copy, creating an infographic or spotting a reactive content opportunity, you'll know how to create content that resonates with audiences and supports organisational goals.

You'll bring hands-on experience and strategic thinking when it comes to managing social media accounts for a brand, charity or values-led organisation, along with a strong understanding of what works across different platforms. You'll enjoy working at pace, balancing BAU activity with reactive comms, and using data and insight to continually improve your work.

We're looking for someone who is creative, proactive and collaborative, with excellent attention to detail and a passion for our sector. You'll be excited by the opportunity to take ownership of a role that combines two of your passions, with the autonomy to shape, deliver and continuously improve NCT's marketing.

You’ll bring:

  • Significant, relevant experience developing and creating engaging content across multiple channels, including social, web, email and video.
  • Strong experience managing social media channels for a brand, charity or values-led organisation, including planning and publishing.
  • Excellent copywriting, editing and content production skills, with experience designing visuals and creating video content.
  • Experience taking ownership of projects from brief to delivery, managing multiple priorities and working to deadlines.
  • A strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, audience engagement and content best practice.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A creative, proactive and collaborative approach, with excellent attention to detail and the flexibility to respond to reactive opportunities when needed.

Our Benefits – What we offer you

We value our team and offer fantastic benefits to support your well-being and professional growth:

  • 30 days annual leave (excluding Bank Holidays)
  • Pension matched up to 5%
  • Flexible working options to suit your lifestyle
  • Employee Assistance Programme, including 24/7 GP access, personalised counselling, legal advice and more
  • Cycle to work scheme to support sustainable commuting

  • Free eye test for all staff, with further discounts
  • Blue Light discount card
