Join us in Malvern for an NCT Antenatal Course, get prepared for your birth and life as a new parent, and meet other local parents-to-be.

A woman with a birth ball. Antenatal Course.

We offer antenatal courses in Malvern to help prepare you for your birth and parenting journey. Our friendly antenatal practitioners will tailor the course to your group's needs. You will get evidence-based information on birth, baby care, infant feeding and information on adjusting to life as a new family. You will get to know the other parents on your course well and you can start forming that important postnatal support network during your classes.

Have a look at the NCT website for more information and to see when the next course is running. The course is very popular so we would recommend booking soon after your 12 week scan to secure your place!

Meet our Local Antenatal Practitioners

Claire

Claire, our antenatal practitioner

I'm Claire and I have been an antenatal teacher for Malvern Hills NCT since 2000. I'm originally a mathematician and am an escaped accountant (which inevitably means I'm also treasurer for a number of local groups). I started training with NCT after attending classes myself with my twin daughters in 1996 and finding the classes of the branch and especially the other parents in my group to be so helpful and supportive. Even all this time later we are still in touch and they are the people I could call on if I needed help. As well as my twin girls. I have a younger daughter and son (singletons) who are also now just grown up. I live high up on the hills and love spending time walking my dog. I'm also a bookworm and enjoy taking part in Gilbert and Sullivan shows. I also run the branch Baby Bundle scheme and I'm active on the Baby Cafe Facebook group.

I believe that one of the most important things parents gain from my classes is a supportive self-sustaining group and I'm always delighted when I meet ex-clients and, almost without exception, they are meeting their baby gangs even 20 plus years later.

Parents are often anxious about what to expect in classes, but they are quickly reassured. Feedback consistently describes my courses as "fun",  "friendly", "welcoming", "informative", "reassuring" and "interesting" but  to find out why parents say they "won't forget that coconut" you'll have to come yourselves.

Charlene

Charlene, our antenatal practitioner

I'm Charlene and I have been a breastfeeding counsellor for three years and an antenatal teacher for 2 years. I'm also an introducing solids practitioner so I cover the whole range from conception to starting solids. I love supporting parents-to-be through what is one going to be one of their biggest life changing moments and seeing them transform from adults to parents.

I've lived in Malvern all my life, I was a dispensary manager before becoming a parent and wanted to use my experiences to help support parents through similar experiences. When I'm not doing my various NCT roles, I'm looking after my two children who now have a more hectic social life than me! With the very small amount of free time I have, you will find me in a quiet hole either gaming, reading or doing cross stitch.
